I found this author on Twitter. I downloaded her book, began reading the collection of short stories and immediately Davis's writing style transfixed me: provocative, explosive, original and cutting-edge. These stories are thought provoking, staying with me long after I finished a story or put down the book. I recommend this book for the pure joy of reading a writer in full command of the English language; her bizarre observations on life, love and relationships goes into the dark recesses of the mind most writers fail to tread. WOW!! I was blown away. I await eagerly her next work, hopefully a full-length novel.Product details

Seeping with meaning, beautiful undertones, and a look at the authors past.
These stories are certainly worth a read if you want get into something a little different.
Many give the impression to me of personal experiences, the writer has perhaps experienced abuse, a bad marriage, a relative with alcohlism, etc. So I felt drawn in to the characters, many of whom are quite dysfunctional. Some of the stories are open-ended and interpretative, esp 'Musings' - is it about a time traveller? or an insomniac?
The best story is, for me, 'Vice President of the Morris Administration', which manages to stay fairly linear in the telling . It is also quite horrific without being a horror story at all.
